2017 is here! I wish all of you a happy New Year and hope it brings you many blessings. In this edition of our SavinGreen Newsletter we talk to Louise Statz from Creating Links, an organisation dedicated to helping their community. In our “Chit-Chat” section, we asked everyday Aussies about their view on the Gender Pay Gap. In our “Controversy” section, we explore this further and the reverence of the Gender Pay Gap in Australia. In “Contagious Courage” we introduce TOM organics, a feminine hygiene business that provides organic products with high regard for the environment. So read on and don’t forget to participate in our “Conversation”
This issue we talked to Louise Statz from Creating Links

We hit the streets to find out what everyday Aussies know
Do you think the Gender Pay Gap exists in Australia?
77.8% of people think that the gender pay gap exists in Australia and 22.2% are unsure. Surprisingly, no one said no.
Do you think we’re doing enough to address it?
The majority of people, 55.6%, said ‘No’ with only 22.2% of people saying yes.
If you don’t like the way the table is set, turn over the table.
The drivers of the gendered pay gap are complex and discussions around the topic have continued to be contentious. Plastered all over media outlets and publications by established individuals, people all have something to say. But what’s the result of all this talk? And to what extent is this debate still relevant in the Australian context?
What exactly do we use on our body nowadays? In this issue’s Contagious courage section, we want to honor a local business that is breaking down this norm within the market. TOM organic is a personal hygiene business that aims to provide the purest, healthiest products, in a way that is less harmful for the environment.
